Jericho Freed made a promise to love and protect his wife. Trouble is, for a handful of years, he walked away in order to protect her from himself. Now, after finding Christ and realizing how wrong he was to leave her, he's back to win her heart all over again. But it isn't going to be easy. Ali Silver has her guard up, and she's not quick to trust.

At all. Especially when their son Chance is involved.

I'm not the type to pick up a romance often, but this book came highly recommended from someone who knows the value of an unforgettable hero. And they were spot on.

Whatever it takes, Jericho strives to earn Ali's trust. He works at being an honorable man in his son's eyes even before he knows the boy is his. He protects Ali, keeping an eye out whether she wants him to or not. But most of all—and this was what sold me—he knows the value of genuine forgiveness. He offers it when it's needed, he seeks it for his own failures, and he understands that a simple apology can't wash away years of hurt.

This is the picture that stuck with me. Home for Good is short and sweet, but there's nothing trite about this honest look at what it takes to make a marriage work. The book has complex characters that didn't always do what I wanted or expected (but who does?) and enough twists to keep me guessing about how everything would wrap up in the end. Definitely worth buying.

Ali has been raising her son alone until her husband walks back into her life. Will she accept Jericho's explanation and apology? Will he be too late to regain her trust and help raise his son? Will they reconnect?

I gave this book4/5 stars. I had a hard time connecting with the two main characters in this book. I did not feel like they could be real people. The main character Ali just did not seem strong; she is portrayed as a weak woman. It did not feel like the author had the character down to perfection. The other main character Jericho was better written but still had no appeal. There was a small mystery but it did not add much to the story. I did like how some of the relationships changed over the course of the book. I thought the author did well at writing how those relationships progressed.

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

Ali Silver is trying to keep her ranch going. She has a son who she loves and will do anything for. One day the man she married the man who left her seven years ago shows back up in her life demanding he is back for good and wants to be her husband again. She tells him to forget about it but he keeps trying and slowly she starts to trust him again and with weird things happening at her ranch that threaten to destroy everything she has worked for she finds herself needing him.

Jericho has hoped that Ali would take him back with open arms but he finds no such invitation. He vows to Ali he will prove to her he will not leave again that he is a changed man. Can he protector her from the person trying to harm her ranch and win her heart back as well?

Over all this was a good book and I enjoyed it. It was a love story with some suspense thrown in which made for a good mix.

What I liked: The book had a good plot and I liked the characters. I thought the subplot with the vandalism to the ranch and who was doing it was well weaved into the story and I found myself wondering who was causing the issues. Ali had been through a lot so far in her life and I enjoyed watching her grow and change as the story went along. I also enjoyed the ending I felt a little surprised when I found out who was behind the troubles Ali was having and the added twist to the plot made it a good ending.

What I did not like: Jericho did not know he was the father of Ali's son at first. This is a fine as other books have used this kind of a plot before but I felt it took to long for Ali to tell him. By the time the moment arrived it was kind of old news and took away from the plot a little.

Over all this was a good book and a solid first book for the author. I am curious if she might write another book about some of the side characters in this book at some point. If you like cowboys and romance check this book out!
