Home Art Studio homeschool art curriculum DVDs are designed to increase students' love and appreciation for the visual arts while providing an opportunity to improve their abilities to problem-solve, think creatively, and express themselves artistically. Art history lessons are also integrated throughout, as well as cross-curricular suggestions for math and social studies. Students are introduced to drawing, painting, and sculpting, while lessons emphasize how art is everywhere.
Just one lesson per week will allow you to complete the program in less than a year. You simply need to provide the supplies! Lesson plan PDF documents are included on the DVD-ROM to help teachers make the most of each lesson-time. Easy-to-follow lessons are age-appropriate and concepts are reinforced in later grades; students may work at their own pace without any fear of falling behind. This program is perfect for parents who don't have a lot of art experience, but who want to ensure that their children receive a well-rounded arts education.
First graders will learn about the visual arts in past and present cultures, "traveling" from Mexico to Australia. Students will master important art vocabulary and work in a variety of mediums- - - every project is chosen to help develop specific art elements and principles, practice fine motor skills, and teach a little about the culture on which it is based.
171 minutes on DVD-ROM. Grade 1.

MommaB5 Stars Out Of 5WonderfulApril 10, 2015MommaBQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0I bought this to help me teach my son art. I was getting bogged down searching pinterest for ideas. I was spending way too much time searching, and not enough doing. This DVD/CD is awesome!! If you put it in your computer it contains a PDF of each lesson and tells you exactly what you need. Then, pop it into your DVD player (or play from your computer if you wish) and let your child enjoy an art lesson that you did not have to prepare! We watch it all the way through once - grab any supplies we need - then come back and play the lesson again as we do the project. We have designated Thursday's as our 'Art Day' and my son looks forward to doing another art project each week - I have even framed a few of them! I am VERY pleased, and will be buying Grade 2 for next year.
MimsyMom4 Stars Out Of 5Overall a good productMay 10, 2013MimsyMomWe like how she does art projects with themes from around the world. My one complaint is that she doesn't tell you what you are going to need before each project. In some projects she doesn't even mention which kind of paint she is using. However we like the projects and my 5 year-old, easily-bored son was able to sit down and just watch this dvd for fun.
