Tell us a little about yourself. I graduated home school high school in 2007, and live with my parents, six brothers, and sister, in the beautiful piney woods region of Texas. Life with my family each day is such a joyI consider them my best friends. In my spare time, I enjoy cross stitch, reading, and writing. In addition to publishing a monthly magazine for young ladies, I stay busy managing distribution of my three booksNoble Girlhood, All Glorious Within, and Higher Ground at Home.
What was your motivation behind this project? During the years since my high school graduation, the Lord has been gracious to teach me and draw me closer to Himself. He has also laid on my heart a desire to encourage likeminded young women to recognize Jesus Christ as our true Rockour "Higher Ground"as we serve Him wholeheartedly during this priceless season of life. Singleness is so much more than a mere waiting periodit is a window of opportunity to grow in the Lord, to deepen family relationships, to cultivate godly vision for our future families, and to serve God in ways that might not be possible after marriage. In writing Higher Ground at Home, my desire was to encourage Christian daughters to live purposefully and victoriously as we seek the face of our risen Lord.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? It has been my prayer that through reading Higher Ground at Home, Christian daughters will be encouraged to a deeper walk with our Savior, Jesus Christ. Faithfulness to God's beautiful calling on our lives is paramount, and it is my desire to help provide refreshing motivation toward that goal.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? One of my life goals is to keep my eyes "ever toward the Lord" (Psalm 25). Therefore, I look to Him daily for grace, victory, and wisdom as I endeavor to live a life pleasing to God. Through immersing myself in God's Word, I am led to a greater understanding of His perfect will for me each day. Other godly influences include my beloved parents, godly pastors and role models, and encouraging Christian books.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: My encouragement to fellow believers is to stand strong in the Lord and in the power of His might! May the promise of 1 Corinthians 15:5758 be yours: "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
