Bereft of resources and savings, Darius and Josephine Blackmon fall hard from their middle-class lifestyle and resort to living in their car. The couple has two young children to care for, but they have no family or friends to help them out of their hardship. Meanwhile, Darius' once unshakeable faith begins to fall apart as the pressures of trying to find work and keep his family together start to mount.
While Darius and his family try to maintain appearances during the day and stay out of sight at night, a prominent teacher named Kevin Allen is working to keep kids in school with government vouchers, filling in where the pay checks stop. Little does Darius know that his path will soon cross Kevin's and make an unimaginable difference in the Blackmons' lives. Approx. 90 Minutes.

and how they all went to great lengths to "keep up appearances"...the dad has a LOT of pride!
The family goes to church -- pretending everything is "fine"
when it's not. I'm not too impressed with their church, you'll
see what I mean if you get this movie.
The storyline is weak in places.
Their homelessness is even kept from the dad's grandmother
who raised him...it's the wife who tells the grandmother about
their dire situation and the grandmother immediately offers shelter in her place but the wife refuses, saying that her husband wouldn't want to jeopardize her home (government housing) and he definitely wouldn't like her knowing how bad things are!
It's not until the last 10 minutes of the movie do we see the
dad accept any type of help-- the family had been homeless
for six months.
