5 Stars Out Of 5
Great Lesson Plans
April 18, 2011
As soon as this book arrived with the Gladys Aylward storybook, my kids wanted to read it so we sat down on the couch. They sat and listened to the whole book. I cried at the end. Afterwards, I opened up the activity guide and we did the character activity for Gladys Aylward. We started by laying down on the ground. I read the script and we acted it out as I read. My children loved it. I looked through the Activity Guide and I was surprised and pleased. With one activity, I had concerns with the beginning but as I read on, I began to understand it and I liked the lesson the activity taught. I highly recommend getting the activity guide to go with these books. Each guide is for four books. It brings them to life. The books are very short and highlight part of the person's life, so the activity guide book really helps. If your children have questions about the rest of the people's lives, I'd recommend the book for older kids published by YWAM from their Christian Heroes Then and Now Series.
The lesson plans in this book would be appropriate for homeschooling, church, mid-week church groups, Christian schools, or family worship times. This book covers the books on Gladys Aylward, Eric Liddell, George Muller, and Nate Saint from the Heroes for Young Readers series.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this book from YWAM for review.
