I am 22 and this book really helped me to become the brother Christ desires me to be for all my sisters. It teaches, convicts, and challenges men to be the hero for them. Seeing them also as someone's future wife, maybe even your own. It has been very encouraging to hear the story straight from the mouths of Jason and Rose, who shared their first kiss at the altar. I was amazed to find Jason's first kiss ever was at that altar! A great book that will open up any man's eyes as to how we should be viewing and honoring our sisters in Christ.

I was so excited by the wisdom inside the pages that I had to share it. These guys know what they're talking about. I'm a girl, but I can see how hard it is being a guy in the world today. Everywhere you look the world is calling you conform: get a girlfriend, have a good time, be like everyone else, be cool. I can only imagine how hard and hopeless it must feel to strive to live up to God's high standards for relationships. Well, if you're looking for help, for answers, for the truth about what women really want from a guy, look no further. Fred Stoeker and his son Jasen have the answers for you. They will tell you exactly what you need to know to become a hero in the world today. The world has few true heroes. You know, those awesome knights in shining armor? Girls dream about such a man from a young age. I used to think this dream was wrong, that encouraging girls to wish for a guy like that was hopeless in today's world and only set girls up for a broken heart. The only reason I was right was because guys don't know how to be a hero and girls don't know how to hold out for one. Jasen Stoeker set me straight. There is always hope, and if a girl trusts God and waits for that hero, God will provide. Guys! You've got to read this book! Oh, how I wish I'd known men of such integrity and honor when I was in college. Know that whether you are a young man just starting to be interested in girls, or a guy who has messed up a lot, there is so much hope for you. You can still train to be a hero. You can still learn what it takes to put on the armor, take up the reins of manhood, and fight for what is good and true and pure in this world. I have great respect for any man who would take a chance, read this book, and make the sacrifices necessary to be a true hero. Step up and take the challenge, men! We girls are waiting for some real heroes! Highly recommended!

Hero by Fred & Jasen Stoeker should be required reading for every Christian young man and his parents. Fred, author of Every Man's Battle, faced a battle against the flesh that had been passed down from grandfather to father to son, until one day looking into his two-year old son Jasen's eyes, he decided that the generational curse of adultery and pornography would end with him. Because of Fred's decision, Jasen made his own decision to keep himself pure until marrying the woman God led him to, which didn't exactly make him the most popular guy in high school. Despite temptation and peer pressure, Jasen didn't even kiss his wife Rose until the minister gave them permission during their wedding ceremony. The authors attack the strongholds of deceit that society has instilled in our brains about sex: women want it just as much as men, finding out if you are sexually compatible before marriage is necessary, God gave men a sexual desire so He of course allows them an outlet, and other lies. Jasen talks about his walk through high school and college, facing derision and coming out a strong man of God on the other side. His wife Rose also offers her point of view on what a true hero of God looks like. Their revelations about how society has warped even Christians' view of sex are startling and enlightening. It's a powerful book with a must-read message
