This product has my boys excited to learn more about our nations history. I was concerned with my ability to teach them as this is my first year, but they are soaking it up! I feel excited to teach them because it's all laid out for you in an easy to understand way. Love this!

I'm really liking the reading, math, science, and heritage studies. I don't like the spelling (it's boring and there is very little working with the words) or the Bible (so boring...too bad bib jones can't make it exciting to learn about the Bible!!). We'll solve the Bible issues when Awana starts!! The English is ok. Since this is my first year doing homeschool, I thought I'd just purchase the kit. I've taught befor; I should have pieced subjects together. But, this is a learning experience for me. It was a bit frustrating because the kit came missing pieces. But, overall, I think we'll be able to resale what we don't use and make back a little money.

I was planning on helping teach this book this year. So as every teacher does, she previews the book. And I was so shocked at how poorly this book is set up. They make the student turn pages to find things and place activity pages in the middle of the text, which can be a distraction for the student, especially those who are slow. They also expect students to remember the other two books before this one, which there is a high chance that they don't. Also If a student is new to this curriculum and has not had the previous Bob Jones Heritage Studies books then they may be confused or lost about what the authors are referring too. I would only buy this book for the students who are well learned in early American history (Columbus-Revolutionary War).
