This volume presents a clarion call to evangelicals to preserve tenaciously "the faith once delivered to the saints." Frank E. James III wrote in the "Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society: " "Brown deserves to be commended not only for his insightful scholarship and his readable style but also and more importantly for providing a sorely-needed jab to the soft underbelly of modern evangelicalism."

Michael5 Stars Out Of 5September 28, 2007MichaelI was very pleased with the fullness and scope of this work. Many people wish to not look at heresies thinking they will go away, or totally with out basis. Harold O.J. Brown explores in a very educated and studied manner the actual heresies that surrounded the old Christian church. Very in depth and detailed too I might add. The insight is amazing, and Harold Brown is not afraid to give his research information.

It's nice to know about the early cults and heresies from back then, being many resurface today under a new cloak to get others to blindly embrace. But by the study of them, it makes for much easier analyzing situations that encompass us today.
