IreneUnited States5 Stars Out Of 5An Encouraging BookJanuary 20, 2013IreneUnited StatesQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is a very encouraging book written by Aaron Basko. The devotions are all well written and filled with positive words that direct you to look to the Lord during this difficult time in your life. I gave this book 5/5 stars. I liked the author's style of writing. He was very open and light hearted yet serious when the principle he was writing about needed to be serious. The main constants in this book are Bible verses and Biblical principles. I think whether you are looking for a job or just going through a difficult time you can learn from and enjoy these devotionals.
I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

Tell us a little about yourself. I have always had a passion for helping people see who they are and imagine who they can become. For the last 15 years I've worked in higher education, helping students explore their college and career options. I believe God created each person with a unique purpose, and I love to assist people in discovering it. I currently work as Assistant Vice President for Enrollment at Salisbury University, where I have also taught career development classes. I speak and write frequently about professional development topics and maintain a blog called "Personal and Professional Development Through Purpose".
What was your motivation behind this project? Much of the material for Help Wanted came out of my own job search experience some years ago. I was really surprised by how few resources there were to help Christians consider the spiritual significance of making job decisions. My mother actually looked for a devotional for job seekers for me, but couldn't find one, so she challenged me to write one. As I walked with God during this time, He provided me with so much great material to share!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that readers will see that God wants to use times like the job search for His glory and their good. So often we separate our spiritual lives from our career decisions, but God wants to be right in the midst of major life circumstances - calling us, training us, and deepening our trust in Him. I hope that readers will see that the job search can be an incredibly rich time if we walk the path with God.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? The book itself is a great example of how God can take a challenging time and bring something of long-lasting value from it. I've tried to share the guidance and inspiration that I received from the Lord during this time.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? You can tell by reading the book that I have been greatly influenced by a number of classic Christian writers. C.S. Lewis and A.W. Tozer were particularly helpful to me during the time I was writing.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I hope that readers will know that I've already been praying for their success during their job search process. I hope that Help Wanted will provide them with that extra bit of encouragement and guidance that they need to let God work in their lives during this time.
