Hell on Trial: The Case for Eternal Punishment
This book is readable as well as deeply rooted in theology. I bought it as an aid to understanding the truth about the terrors of hell, in an effort to better grasp the plight of the unsaved. This is a book every Christian should read.

I took Dr. Peterson's course "Heaven, Hell, and Angels" in my senior year at Covenant Seminary, and this book was one of our textbooks. WOW! What an impact it had on me! It brought the reality of Hell into clear view. It is a scholarly book, yet easy to read. In my opinion, it's the best recent book (by far) on this difficult and terrifying subject--that may be because Hell is not a very popular subject in our times and little has been written about it--and less said about it--in the past hundred years or so. But this is still an absolutely outstanding resource!

What a great book! I was using this for research, and was only skimming it to find what I was looking for. Before I knew it, I was intensly reading, captivated by the author's marvelous way of presenting the case from Scripture. It has been worth every penny.

A very thorough analysis on the doctrine of eternal punishment. Totally conservative and orthodox in its teaching. Chapters include the teaching of hell from the OT, from Christ, from the apostles and throughout church history. It also discusses the false teachings of universalism and annihilationism. If one was only to buy one book on the doctrine of hell, this would be the book.
