Awsome! An eye opener to our very average, ordinary Christin walks. God gives us the tools only when we need them, that's why we only see Him work seldomly. I was challenged by this book.

Having recently returned from a mission trip to Siberia and working with church planters, this book has encouraged me in Jesus' command to go into all the world and make disciples of the nations. I am continually amazed at the suffering for Jesus that these disciples have endured in China as well as Russia. This book will strengthen one's resolve to go beyond one's church building and to boldly witness for Christ. It has had a lasting impact on me.

This is one of the most exciting and heart-warming true stories of watching God's steady hand in preparing one of His special servants for effective ministry, through very tough experiences.

A must read for those who believe we are to be witnesses for our Lord Jesus--and an encouragement for those who want to obey.

I bought this book before it was available in the US. It cost over $20 plus shipping but it was worth every penny. I also bought the Chinese simplified version to loan to my Chinese friends. This book is a classic for all the ages to come. I had heard through a newsletter put out by the Pastor from Hong Kong that Brother Yun mentioned in his book about his fasting for 74 days back in the 80's. Pastor Paul is from England and he used to share at our pulpit regularly what is happening in Asia and did so just last year.Brother Yun's story compels those who hear the story of "victory" over the death and torture to face head on the powers of darkness. Street witnessing is not available to our brothers in closed nations, so I chose to take advantage of this freedom until we are closed. I have given out copies of this book and will continue to do so to inspire others. The price is so affordable, everyone should buy at least 2 to give one away. I love Brother Yun's courage to stand up to those would make us turn our back on Jesus to not be a traitor is the most important thing we can do to maintain our right standing before our God.

I have read many religious books, some were highly spiritual. A very few I make a part of the "classics" that will go wherever I go. This one is already a part of those even tho' I've not yet even finished reading it. It has been so instructive as well as encouraging. Deeply spiritual as it relates to one's personal walk with God. It has helped me understand the bonding that will happen between us and Christ and our fellow Christians when we suffer for His sake, and Paul told Timothy that all who will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. I no longer fear such suffering as I did before reading this account.

This book and the follow-up "Living Water" are positively life-changing. I could not put them down once I had started reading. I'm recommending them to everyone. As someone who has been a Christian for over 65 years and has grown steadily in my relationship with the Lord, I was overwhelmed with conviction about how little I know of sacrifice and service in comparison to Brother Yun's life of complete yieldedness to God. It has opened my eyes to the need of prayer for our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters in China and other countries. Brother Yun's teachings in "Living Water" are straight-forward from Scripture and the presence of the Holy Spirit was powerful in every word. I was blessed as well as convicted. Everyone who wants more of the Lord should read both of these books.

Brother Yun is an inspiration to every serious Christian. His book reveals a biblical faith that is seldom seen in these modern times; it makes my heart yearn to follow his example. The persecution that Chinese Christians have faced had remained largely unknown to the rest of the world, as well as the awesome power of the revival that accompanied it, until Brother Yun brought word of it outside of China's borders. This is a book for anyone, struggling or not, searching or not. It will open your eyes.
