Heaven Is Waiting, DVD
I had purchased this as a 2-pack video sale of Miracle Of The Cards with Heaven Is Waiting included. I would recommend the 1st video to anyone (it is an inspiring true story - even if it is a little sad to see what has happened in the years after the film was made (you can do an internet search about the main character)). I would not, however, recommend Heaven Is Waiting to anyone. The film is not Biblical and it is a subtle way to introduce some very dangerous concepts. Consider the premise of a man talking to his dead wife: The Bible clearly issues warnings against this kind of spiritualism (Lev 19:13, Deu 18:10-12, Isa 8:19-20, 1Ti 4:1...). Also consider that this man is still in a "relationship" with his wife. He is satisfied with this arrangement and does not wish to move on. However, his "wife" encourages him to have a relationship with another woman! This introduces a mild form of adultery! I don't want to sound too critical but at this point Christians should stop watching and throw this film in the trash where it belongs. I did not, since I was watching it with others, and I regret it. As we discussed the film afterwards, no one really seemed to think that this was worth watching. The film goes on with several other questionable scenes all slipped under the cover of a "cute", "humorous", "love story". I am surprised that this is even sold in Christian stores! It is hard to find truly good films today but they are out there - this is just not one of them.

Great family movie
Well done story about moving on after life changes. Lots of humor included which helped get the ideas across without disrupting the story.

I wasnâÂÂt always into romantic comedies, I guess I have my wife to blame for watching and liking some of them. Of course when it comes to movies in general, one of my favorite kinds of movies are the ones which make me laugh; people easily recognize me for my laugh. While searching for Christian movies online I found Heaven is Waiting, which described itself to be a romantic comedy. Since IâÂÂm primarily trying to find good and family friendly movies, with a variety of genres I decided to check this out for myself.
Heaven is Waiting is about a Dad named Ned who has been grieving for his dead wife longer than he should be. As a way of coping he has conversations with her, some of them are weird and some are humorous. His daughter is now in college and is coming home to visit, but is also bringing a friend. Ned learns his daughterâÂÂs âÂÂfriendâ is a boy who might be more than just a friend. Ned struggles with not only letting go of his previous wife in order to start dating a neighbor named Carol, but he also struggles with the idea of letting his daughter go tooâ¦
Heaven is Waiting is certainly a movie which has romance and a bit of humor, but there is certainly more than that going on in this story. When there was humor I felt much of it within the movie was pretty funny, though I can definitely say there were times when they tried to be funny and it didnâÂÂt work. The story itself is clever and addresses several topics which men certainly have or are currently going through. I enjoyed the resolution to the story as well as some of the moral themes they presented. I also liked the acting and the video quality was very good too. Overall, I didnâÂÂt see as much humor in this tale as I wanted, but despite my expectation I felt they balanced out humor/romance/ the serious parts pretty decently and is a worthwhile purchase for the whole family.
p.s. Does anyone else think the girl who played NedâÂÂs daughter looks a little bit like Selena Gomez lol?
