How does a visit to heaven change your life?
Todd and Sonja Burpos almost-four-year-old son Colton made an unforgettable trip to heaven and back during the darkest, most stressed-out days of their lives. Times were tough, money was scarce, and the bills, frustrations, and fears were piled high.
How did Coltons visit to heaven change things for them individually and as a family? And what does any of this mean for you and your life?
Todd, and for the first time ever Sonja and Colton, from their perspectives, share what has happened since the release of their New York Times bestseller, Heaven Is for Real. Through their own experiences, and after hearing from thousands of the more than eight million readers who have shared how the story has affected them, they show you how believing heaven is for real will help you survive hardships here on earth, including the death of a loved one or the loss of a child through tragedy, miscarriage, or even abortion.
Todd, Sonja, and Colton answer questions such as:
· Is it really okay to struggle with and question God? Really?
· What hope is there for me if Ive lost a child or a loved one to death? Will I ever see them again?
· What does heaven feel like?
· Can I know for sure that Im going to heaven?
· Does God really hear me when I pray?
They also explain how their story can help you keep thoughts of eternity in mind in the midst of your own overly busy, stressed-out lives.
Heaven truly is for real, and believing it changes everything!

SO IN THE FUTURE, PLEASE KNOW THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU A REVIEW ON ALL ITEMS. BUT I CAN TELL YOU THERE HAS BEEN VERY FEW TIMES THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN PLEASED WITH MY ORDER IN WHICH I CALL CHRISTIAN BOOK DISTIBUTORS AND THE PROBLEM IS TAKEN CARE OF IMMEDIATELY. THANK YOU
nomer15Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Devotional or Stand-Alone--Either WorksJanuary 11, 2014nomer15Gender: female"Heaven Changes Everything: Living Every Day with Eternity in Mind" by Todd and Sonja Burpo is a devotional based on their best-selling book, "Heaven is For Real". This book features 42 entries, beginning with an excerpt from "Heaven is For Real", followed by a brief devotional thought written by one or both of the Burpos, and concludes with a reflective question and Scripture verse. Each reading is designed to help the reader turn their thoughts toward heaven. Some of the topics covered include miscarriage, children's ministry, and forgiveness.
Overall, this is a nice companion book. I appreciated the format of the book, as well as reading reflections from both authors. I never gave much more than a passing thought to heaven until my own miscarriage. Their original book brought so much comfort to us in a great time of need and helped turn our thoughts toward heaven. In a world that tends to be pretty self-absorbed (even in Christian circles!), a book that encourages the reader to begin to turn our thoughts toward eternity is a great tool.
This book works well as a devotional and is perfect for someone looking for an easy daily read. Because it draws heavily on the first book, you don't have to have read the first book to enjoy and appreciate this one. It's such a great reminder to not forget that this world isn't all there is and that, as believers, we have far greater things to look forward to. As C.S. Lewis wrote: "there are far, far greater things ahead than any we leave behind."
(I've received this complimentary book from Thomas Nelson Publishing House through the Book Sneeze program in exchange for a review. A positive review was not required and the views expressed in my review are strictly my own.)

I'm glad to know some. All I know, we are not allow to know what's God's secret for all of us. I just leave it alone until I go up there and ... real happy to see Jesus. Big thank you to Todd and the Christian books store for letting everyone knows. God bless you all. Vicki
AddLibrarianAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5A nice follow-up to Heaven is for RealMay 24, 2013AddLibrarianAge: 25-34Gender: femaleI read Heaven is for Real about six months before my father died, which gave it extra meaning for me later on. What I took away from this sequel was the reminder of the peace that can fill our everyday lives when we live them in anticipation of the joyful reunion that is to come.
1kyteacherAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Heaven REALLY DOES change everythingJanuary 1, 20131kyteacherAge: 35-44Gender: femaleI have read Heaven is for Real and Heaven is for Real for Kids. Now I have completed the third book by Todd and Sonja Burpo called Heaven Changes Everything: Living Everyday with Eternity in Mind.
In their third book, the Burpo's apply what they have learned from their son Colton's experience in heaven. Each chapter takes a look at part of Colton's original story and then shows how the family has changed because of it. Hence the name of the book! The chapters begin with a quote from Heaven is for Real and then a narration of the effect of Colton's visit to heaven. At the end of each chapter, the reader is presented with a question or statement to consider and then scripture that goes along with the chapter's purpose.
This book was a quick and easy read. I enjoyed it, but not as much as the original story. I did appreciate the honesty of the authors and the revelation of how their son's trip to heaven changed them and how it can change us too.
