mandaandtom4 Stars Out Of 5A Heart's DangerMay 1, 2015mandaandtomQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Colleen Coble's series Journey of the Heart has been releasing each month since March. It's been fun to get a new book each month, and I like that they are so short. Being a busy mom it can be hard to find time to read, but with each book being so short, I find that it's not that hard to get through them while taking care of my family. Sometimes while reading this book, I have wondered how Ben Croftner can get away with doing so much evil. He never seems to get what he deserves. Sarah and Rand's relationship can be frustrating at times, and I silently wonder what on earth he sees in a girl like Jessica. That being said, life can be like this story. At times we may wonder what on earth someone sees in another person. And others do seem to get away with doing evil. Colleen's story draws from the real elements of life. Life can be frustrating and not at all how you plan for it to go. I appreciate the realism in her writing. This book has been a good continuation of the story, and I look forward to the next book out in May, A Heart's Betrayal.

Heart2HeartVictorville, CAAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Will Sarah risk it all for the man she loves?April 28, 2015Heart2HeartVictorville, CAAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As part of an ongoing Journey of the Heart series, from best-selling author Colleen Coble, A Heart's Danger is the third book that is being reprinted. Once written more than 10 years ago, Colleen along with Thomas Nelson Publishers are bringing back one of her first series back to print in installments. The previous two, A Heart's Disguise and A Heart's Obsession have followed the relationship of Rand Campbell and Sarah Montgomery who were once promised to be married, but through a serious of circumstances have now gone their separate ways even though their love hasn't.
While they are living at Fort Laramie, the Indian hostilities are growing and require armed escorts for the women if they venture outside the walls. Ben Croftner hasn't abandoned his plans to marry Sarah and see the demise of Rand after all this time. Now working in conjunction with Rand's fiancee Jessica Dubois, the two figure if they can work on a plan, they will both get what they want in the end. Sarah is still trying to work on moving forward in her life and hopes that a future with one of the men from the fort, will provide the stability she needs for both herself and her brother Joel. She respects that Rand has proposed and plans to wed Jessica, but hopes that somewhere along the way, things might work out in the end for them both to find happiness.
Now that winter has set in, supplies are hard to come by for the Indians and soon one of Sarah's Indian friends succumbs to the effects of pneumonia despite not wanting to live among the white men for safety and security. It is heartbreaking for Sarah to understand the differences between the cultures and how the Indians are having to deal with the issues plaguing them by the greed of the white men like Ben who will trade anything to get what he wants even if it means bringing them to the brink of war?
I received A Heart's Danger by Colleen Coble compliments of Litfuse Publicity and Thomas Nelson Publishers for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions contained here are strictly my own. After reading this series so far, I am once more drawn to the life that people faced in the Old West. The uncertainty of life from one day to another would have been overwhelming and never knowing if the man you loved would make it home or not, was something women had to contend with. Besides the effects of the weather, there were risks of growing hostility among the Indians and those living in the Fort. It wasn't an easy life and one that required a deep sense of faith to make it from one day to the next. This certainly comes across in each of these books from the Journey of The Heart Series. It was a step of faith that Sarah and Rand have to contend with in each difficult circumstances that they face and one that will only make them grow stronger in the end. This one is definitely worth 5 out of stars!

In A Hearts Danger, Sarah learns how difficult life with the Sioux can be, as well as how painful it is to watch what happens to the Sioux while more white men and women move into their territory. Another soldier also begins to express interest in Sarah, and she wonders if she could ever learn to love him.
Sarah finds herself in danger several times throughout this story, sometimes because Ben Croftner is a sore loser and a cruel, evil man, and sometimes because she takes risks she shouldnt take.
A Hearts Danger is filled with danger, excitement and suspense. It is well written and is, in my opinion, the best book in the series so far. As the first two in the series ended with a definite cliff hanger, A Hearts Danger seems to have resolved enough issues to have a good, solid ending. However, it is not the end. There are three more books coming, and though the first two ended with cliff hangers, this one has me more curious and intrigued, wondering what Ms. Coble could possibly do in the next book. I cant wait to find out.
I would highly recommend this book to women who love a good romance story filled with danger, excitement and suspense. If you like a book you cant put down, this book is for you. I read this book in one sitting. I just couldnt stop reading until I knew how it ended.

He gladly joins in her evil scheme. Will Rand and Sarah make it out alive? Will Sarah be safer with Ben or with the Sioux Indians? You'll have to read to find out!
This is the third book in Colleen Coble's Journey of the Heart series. The books are super short (each about 100 pages each) and there are still 3 more to come. Overall, I liked this installment. I liked the other two better but I can't quite put my finger on why. My biggest issue is that I wish this book was one instead of 6 super short novellas!
