Tell us a little about yourself. I am a working mom with twin boys (now 3 years old) and live in South Australia in the Adelaide Hills. I enjoy cooking and know that it is good parenting to prepare healthy food for babies and children. I know how challenging it is to prepare healthy food fast for children, and want to share my recipes with mothers, fathers and carers who also want the best for their babies and children's diets. Good nutrition starts from the first mouthful, from first solids.
What was your motivation behind this project? I am a busy mom who wants the best for her children, including a healthy diet. I want to help mothers, fathers and carers prepare healthy food for their babies, by using a very easy, approachable cook book full of easy to prepare, healthy recipes made from readily available supermarket ingredients.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Some easy ideas to feed babies healthy home food. Healthy Baby Food has a photo per recipe and is dietician endorsed and I guarantee the recipes are more straightforward than most. Your baby will be more likely to become an adventurous eater after eating many of these recipes, which help babies learn about a wdie variety of foods. ENJOY!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I now use the book in my kitchen to prepare food for my twin boys (now 3) as my recipe guide. I know what it is like to be time poor, yet not wanting to give children less healthy, highly processed foods.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Healthy eating starts with the first mouthful, and can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, obesity and some cancers later in life.
