Did author Wanda Brunstetter do it again? The Healing Quilt did not disappoint me in any way. I have read her two previous books The Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club and The Tattered Quilt. Both were excellent reads. I couldnt wait for The Healing Quilt to arrive. Could this book stand up to the test as an excellent read also? For me it surely did!
Lamar and Emma are two of the characters I have grown extremely fond of.
As the author introduces us to the new quilt class attendees I found myself getting excited about this next journey. Who are these people? Where are they from? What problems are they struggling with?
Jennifer is expecting her first child. She is in the class because of an unexpected kindness shown to her; Mike, well he isnt really suppose to be in this class but he is. You will find out the reason why as you get into this story; Erika, is a young teen who is wheelchair bound and mad at the world; Kim, she is new to the area and is a waitress; Noreen, is a widow and is struggling with bitterness; BJ, he is an artist from Chicago trying to come to terms with his future. Sounds like a pretty mixed bag of folks trying to live the life they were given. Makes for a great story!
So many hurting lives thrown together for a six week quilting class. Two Godly understanding people leading the class. Is this the place where miracles happen?
I loved that we were also given updates on previous class attendees. It was a joy to see Jan Sweet (Jan, the man!) written into this book too.
As I was reading The Healing Quilt I had to stop and reflect on how easy it is to let bitterness, envy, self pity, and why me, creep into my daily life. I do believe that the Holy Spirit has a way of speaking to us in books if we are open to His leading.
I simply loved this book and I hope you will pick up a copy of it.
My thanks goes out to the publisher and to author Wanda Brunstetter for allowing me to read and review this book. The opinions expressed are mine alone.

i received an ARC of The Healing Quilt for an honest review. as always Wanda delivers a well written story with believable characters and life situations that all tie together. you don't want to put it down until you find out how it ends. i was unable to read the previous two books in the series, but found it could stand alone. I highly recommend this.
