When Gideon Westcott left his privileged life in England to make a name for himself in America's wool industry, he never expected to become a father overnight. And five-year-old Isabella hasn't uttered a word since she lost her mother. The unconventionality of the new governess concerns Gideon--and intrigues him at the same time. But he can't afford distractions. He has a ranch to run, a shearing to oversee, and a suspicious fence-cutting to investigate.
When Isabella's uncle comes to claim the child--and her inheritance--Gideon and Adelaide must work together to protect Isabella from the man's evil schemes. And soon neither can deny their growing attraction. But after so many heartbreaks, will Adelaide be willing to get her head out of the clouds and put her heart on the line?

Little AussieAge: 18-24Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5For anyone who loves humour, romance and action...July 6, 2014Little AussieAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Karen Witemayer has delivered once again! Head in the Clouds is a great book filled with unique characters, humour, action and romance. You can't help rooting for Adelaide as she faces various challenges both large and small. She's all heart, and her can-do attitude, courage and sense of imagination completely sweep you along in the story. Add in the charming, cheeky and (dare I say it) handsome hero of Gideon, and you are all set to find yourself in Texas! This is a great all-round book that would be perfect for a lazy summer afternoon. It's definitely a keeper!

It was well written, and although I preferred "Short-Straw Bride", this was a great book filled with loveable characters, smiles, and a dash of suspense. I'd highly recommend this to lovers of historical, romantic and British/Texas men... ;)

Army MomAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5May 15, 2012Army MomAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4In my opinion this wasn't as good as the authors first book, Tailor made bride, but over all it was a nice read. I didn't have any trouble with it, and the main female character loves to read, so I found that that was fun.
