Developed from his featured Bible teaching series on Bible.org, Occupational Hazards of Being a Man focuses on a different Old Testament personality with a unique problem in every chapter. Miller tackles these tough and pervasive issues to help men realize that these hazards are not unique to them, but that they are issues that all men face--and can overcome. This honest and freeing book is perfect for men's small groups, pastors, counselors, and individuals.
When the opportunity comes to learn from someone else's mistake instead of making your own, take it! Men have been struggling with the same problems since biblical times. From well-known men like Adam and Samson to more obscure men like Achan and Elkanah, the Bible is filled with stories of men facing the hazards that men still face today. Hazards of Being a Man tackles twelve hazards all men face and paints a compelling picture of how to live as a better man.
Pastor Jeffrey E. Miller, who based this book on his popular and successful series on Bible.org, gives to field-tested advice on the way out of these common male hazards:
With questions for individual study or group discussion, Hazards of Being a Man offers you a way to start living better--as a husband, father, single, colleague, leader, or friend--today.
Sherman Craft5 Stars Out Of 5April 1, 2010Sherman CraftI am an avid reader who really enjoy books that speak the truth to real life issues. Perhaps there are many books on the market that do this and I certainly haven't read them all. nevertheless it would be hard for to believe that any of them does a better job than this one. That is none other than the bible. I believe anyone serious about becoming a better person, not just man, can gain a lot from this book that goes right to the heart of the issues without wasting time with a lot of fluff.
