Editorial Reviews

The latest installment in the Quiet Professionals series is a page-turner until the very end.

Ronie Kendig has done it again! My laundry piled up, dust bunnies multiplied, and dishes overflowed in the sink as I was totally enthralled with Hawk. I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. The characters leap off the page and capture my heart.. I can't wait for the next amazing title from this series.

I, personally, enjoyed this military crafted story much better than Raptor 6. It was more of a struggle for the two characters who had to deal with their past issues and come together to find love, God, and true freedom. The writing was riveting, especially with the details of the frozen tundra and the wind whipping through the characters thin clothes. I felt like I was climbing that mountain with them as they struggled for their lives.

Ronie Kendig is a master at weaving several sub-plots together, toggling back and forth between them simultaneously, and then bringing them all together at the end. The action in HAWK is non-stop with suspense at every turn. There are a multitude of characters in this story, but the hero and heroine, Hawk and Fekiria, are both the strong, resilient type. Trouble seems to find them both very easily. This inspirational thriller is about trying too hard to prove one's self, about being afraid of relationships and about having a relationship with God rather than being religious. Ms. Kendig lets us catch up on other characters of whom she has told their stories in previous books in this Quiet Professionals series, as well as her Breed Apart series. HAWK is inspirational suspense at its very best!

This review was written for Hawk - eBook.
I think I've read every one of Ronie Kendig's books. As a military wife I can associate with so much of the life of these men and women. The characters are very real and their situations evoke both fear, sadness, and relief when resolved. The enemy seems to have leaped off the headlines we read everyday. Can't wait for the next book.

Hawk the second book in The Quiet Professionals series. I

had no trouble reading it as a stand alone as I have not read

    the first book.

This story is action packed, moves fast and contains a lot of

    harsh reality.

The story contains many twists, unexpected turns and

    Shocking surprises.

The author gets inside the heads of the characters and

presents them to the reader so you understand the inner

workings of all involved.the main two characters and the

terrorist plus Raptor 6 team members and other American

    military.

The terrorist are cutting into the American communications.

The terrorist are giving orders that are endangering the

American troops especially the Raptor 6 team members.

This tracking to find the ghost hacker takes Raptor's

communications expert, Staff Sergeant Brian "Hawk" Bledsoe

into the middle of Afghanistan. He finds himself faced with a

dual problem of having to find the hackers and saving an female

Muslim pilot ( Fekiria Haidary), her teacher friend and some

children refuges hiding from the Taliban. This involves taking

them up into the mountains during a major snow storm.

Description is deftly woven into the story. I felt I was right

    there in each scene.

The tension was thick and well-sustained. Every turn gave the

    reader something unexpected.

Thank you to book fun.org for this book. My opinion is my own.

  4. 5 Stars Out Of 5
I think Hawk is my favorite book hero

Confession time: Hawk is the first book I have read by Ronie Kendig. It will certainly not be my last. Starting off, I was not sure the first few chapters in if I was going to enjoy this one. I do not read a lot of military fiction and there were a lot of characters to keep track of and some military lingo I was not familiar with. That being said, Ronie does provide us with a glossary of terms and acronyms as well as a character list including a sundry character list. All of these lists were quite useful. This is the second in the series of The Quiet Professionals and I did not read book one. Even though I think this book stands well alone, I would have been more familiar with the team if I had read book one. However, after reading this one, I am now anxious to get my hands on the first one, Raptor 6 and especially the third, Falcon, which will be out later this year.

There came a point in the story that there was no going back for me. It grabbed a hold of me and I stayed up way too late (2:30 in the morning late) just to reach the conclusion. The bad guys, and there seemed to be a mess of them, were all over the place bad. Hawk, our hero, was my favorite good guy. This is mostly his story and even with all his temper, smart mouth, and his genuine genius (ness), he was a hero that would not, could not give up. He is probably (if I had a list) at the top of my book hero list. Our heroine, Fekiria, gave us a birds eye view of being an Afghan woman raised in a very strict family trying to make her way in a world where women are viewed as property.

I really ended up enjoying Ms. Kendigs storytelling. At first there seemed to be many different story threads happening in this one book, but when she tied all of them together.BOOM!!! I am a new fan.

I received my review copy from The Book Club Network, Inc. (TBCN) and the opinions stated are my own honest ones.

    Powerful writing a real page-turner!

Staff Sergeant Brian Hawk Bledsoe caught my attention in book one of The Quiet Professionals series so I really looked forward to reading his story. Hawk is a gorgeous hero with whom Id like to spend a day.

In book one; Raptor 6, we also met FekiriaZarahs cousin. I didnt like her so much from the start. However, I have seen Kendig turn my thoughts before about how I liked a character in a previous book, so I decided to give Fekiria a chance. But I didnt really get to like her enough and thats why I rate the book 4 stars instead of 5. The writing, action, and suspense really is 5 star quality, but to rate 5 stars I simply must have loved both the main characters.

The mission is dangerous and there seems to be no way out for Hawk, Fekiria, Mitra and the girls. The enemy seems to be everywhere. Meanwhile, Hawk has to deal with some serious demons from the past. Hawk is a man of his wordhe promised to keep Fekirias secret and to bring her and the others safely through the storm.

    Powerful writing a real page-turner!
