5 Stars Out Of 5

I finished this audiobook in 3 days and thought it was great. It really got my attention when I categorized each of the 6 members of my family as per his instruction and later in the chapter Dr. Leman described the likely categorization of each member of my family. I then had the wind knocked out of my sails to discover the type of parent I was directly resulted in the outcome of my kids. Most would say duhhh to that, but I mean he DIRECTLY gave me the feedback as to why I was doing what I was doing. He then went into childhood memories which I thought was absolutely incredible. I have heard of this sort of work before but never actually delved into it at all. So it was revealing to say the least because my standard answer to anyone who asks what were your childhood memories like would be NOTHING - I don't remember a thing. But now I know its all there and very helpful to reveal why I am getting the results I am getting right now.
OK, so the beginning was an eye opener, some parts of the middle he was starting to lose me as I fort with it and the end wrapped it all together. Everything was so screwed up for me over the weekend that I needed this book to pull in some pretty horrific feelings of rejection from family members. Now I know why its occurred, how to respond and how to thrive from here on. What a turn around in such a short amount of time and I didnt have to attend a weekend Rar Rar seminar to push through barriers.
It really is true "Have a new you by Friday" because I can see it in the way my kids are responding to me. Kids have an excellent FORGETTER. I love that about kids because it allows parents to screw up and get on with the job because now I know "I don't have one more chance" like my father told me and the magic bullet is as real as the tooth fairy.
I took about 10 pages of notes and recommend you do the same. Its not really that overwhelming, but very helpful, if you have the right intent to do the work. For me, the work will happen because I believe in the message and I've had a taste of the freedom it offers from the stories I have been telling myself for 41 years.
