    Tell us a little about yourself.  Jonathan Niemeyer is an attorney for a midwestern corporation and lives in Cincinnati with his wife and two children. Mr. Niemeyer has been published in legal and sports related publications, and this is his first Christian book.

    What was your motivation behind this project?  Due to the "Jabez phenomenon", many may now think that the secret to eternal life is praying to God to be personally blessed, and praying to God to enlarge their territories. However, as followers of Christ know, although the Prayer of Jabez may be a useful prayer tool, the true key to salvation and to closeness with God is not the prayer of a little known Old Testament figure. If Jabez's prayer holds the signficance placed on it by Bruce Wilkinson, why did Jesus not mention Jabez even once during his 30 plus years on this earth? Instead of focusing on a simple prayer, Harvesting Spiritual Fruit is based solidly on Galatians 5:22-23, the fruit of the spirit -- love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control -- and on dozens of other references to scripture which relate to and bolster this significant passage of Paul's letter to the Galatians. In September 2001, my daughter, in kindergarten at a Christian elementary school, was charged with memorizing Galatians 5:22-23 as her scripture verse of the entire year. As my wife and I helped our daughter to memorize this crucial passage, an idea was born, which has now made its way into print.
