tedious & boring
I'm half way through the book and find it tiring. I'm not sure if it's a novel or a prophecy book. The written conversations follow a predictable pattern. I wish a friend hadn't recommended it to me, so I won't recommend it to you.

An easy read. A difficult subject that the author has presented in a story format. Thought provoking. Bought the CD too, enjoyed the book much more. Gave book to a friend, he enjoyed it too. Says repentance is the key that America must face if God is going to bring blessings back to America.

First Half is Okay
The first half of the book is interesting and somewhat exciting as the author tries to show the relation between current events and Isaiah 9:11. However, the second half is boring--almost as if the author had already said what he had intended to but needed another half book to satisfy the publisher.
Another point is that I have heard some Christians go around telling others that they must read the Harbinger. However, the same message of "We have turned from God and must turn back to Him to escape His judgment" is found throughout the Bible, but I do not hear these same Christians go around telling others that they must read the exciting Bible. I think that while Cahn's message in the first half of the book is interesting, some Christians get excited more about Cahn's semi-fiction book than the Bible because they like and are more interested in entertainment than seeking God's word.

Horrible Hermeneutics
While the basis of the books message (that America needs to turn back to God) is honorable, the Biblical hermeneutics are horrible. Messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn believes he has discovered an âÂÂancient mysteryâ in Isaiah:9:10 that explains everything from 9/11 to the collapse of the global economy. As Cahn states at the beginning of his book âÂÂWhat you are about to read is presented in the form of a story, but what is contained within the story is real.â Many have accepted CahnâÂÂs message as being genuinely from God. However "The Harbinger" falls far short of meeting the biblical requirements for such a message from God, being based on the mishandling of Scripture, faulty theology, misleading statements, the selective use of historical facts, and unsupported speculation.
