My Grade 1 son struggles with fine motor writing skills, so the length of the activities are in his "willing" range. He is very motivated by the end of the week activity of writing on a picture page, and wants to give all he completes to Gramma for a Christmas gift. He knows many of the verses and had to "adjust" to the word differences, but that's what a world with different Bible versions is all about. Clear, easy to teach, enjoyable for my two sons.
I expected that my child would be copying actual verses from the actual Bible. Instead, the weekly copywork is of a paraphrase - and not always an accurate paraphrase, either. I'll admit that I'm really picky about that, but after all this is God's Word we're talking about. I don't want my children thinking they've learned an actual verse, when it's clearly not.For what it's worth, I think the "treehouse" idea is nice. As soon as we finish this, we're switching to Writing with Diligence.
