Generally good curriculum, but more errors than I expected

We've used the Grammar and Writing for the past few years, and while the curriculum has been more than adequate, I was surprised at the number of errors in the answer key. At least once a week I've found an error in the lesson answers - either incorrect answers, or answers that aren't even options in the student text (like Review Set 62, problem 1 - the answer in the answer key is not even listed as an option in the student text). It makes it frustrating to check & grade when you can't always trust what's written in the key. It seems like it's been more of an issue in Grammar & Writing 8, as I don't remember having this many issues with the answer key in past years.

Saxon did an amazing job of teaching grammar and writing in this comprehensive book. The text is written to the student, which makes it easy for them to follow without having a parent look over their shoulder every minute. I can honestly say this "eighth" grade text could easily be used to teach a 9th to 12th grade student that had not been previously taught thorough grammar skills.

I like the idea that the grammer and writing are separated into two books. It gives greater detail then other material I looked at. I do wish the student text was a hardcover.
