My Review
This is a book that addresses grief, the processes, identifying it and handling it as well as other different issues. Getting rid of heartbreak, for example, in our lives while bring in nourishment for strengthing our faith. Also contained within the authors experiences with grief, life and everything in between, also has ways of addressing the readers own grumble issues; hallelujah prayers and questions for reflection and discussion after each chapter.
Upbeat, modern, humorous and beneficial is how I would describe Grumble Hallelujah. I feel it would be a book befitting a person suffering from grief, especially a young person. Some of the author's suggestions have merit, there are points addressed in this book that she elaborates on. Being very honest, the author discusses in detail her faults and shortcomings letting the reader know that they are not the only ones who are going through difficult times. The book is divided into different sections, the reader can decide which part is more suiting to their needs, part three was most helpful to me which addresses jealousy, competition and judgement. Overall I did enjoy this book.

What Awesome Honesty In This Book, Loved It!
Reviewing Grumble Hallelujah: Learning to Love Your Life Even When It Lets You Down was such a joy for me, because I could relate to Caryn so much and her honesty is awesome. If you had told Caryn Dahlstrand Rivadeneira while she was crying on the kitchen floor that she could find a way to praise God in this situation, she wouldnâÂÂt have believed you. In fact, she might have thrown something at you. Looking around at a life that was disappointingly different from what sheâÂÂd dreamed she couldnâÂÂt imagine honestly singing out a hallelujah. But then it occurred to her that, well, maybe she could manage to grumble one.
Have you been there? I know I have, and it stinks. But Caryn shows us that there is light at the end of the tunnel. What I love the most about this book was CarynâÂÂs down right honesty weather it was good or bad, she did not pussy foot around lifeâÂÂs problems. I really enjoyed reading this book, and if you have ever been on the floor crying your eyes out and screaming you hate your life, then I know you will love it too.

Grumble Hallelujah
Ever feel so miserable that you wonder why GOD makes you go through this pain? Well this book is for you. If you are feeling down, depressed, and wondering why your love for GOD is not making you happy? This is a great helpful book that makes you look at your unhappiness in life and realize that GOD makes that happen to make you be closer to him.
This book has 15 chapters that covers a different situation for you to think about and work on in your daily life. This is a good self help book, daily devotional, or a good group bible study. Each chapter is about a 5 to 10 minute read, you are given a story that Caryn went through, then backed up with biblical explantions (along with scripture references) and then questions for you to review your own life and makes you realize that GOD is making you go through all this to make you closer to him. This book helps you work through unhappiness by learning to greive what you are going through and that GOD is with you and he is making this all happen for his glory, you have to go through the steps of greif, learning and becoming closer to GOD.
I really enjoyed this book and it helped me (as I am going through a difficult time) to realize it is ok to feel sad as long as I know I am getting closer to GOD.

Encouragement for praising God at all times
Scripture tells us to âÂÂgive thanks in all circumstancesâ and to âÂÂrejoice at all times.â Hundreds of passages refer to praising God. Certainly God calls us to a life of praise and thanksgiving. But anyone who has lived on this broken earth knows that this call is not always easy.
Caryn Dahlstrand RivadeneiraâÂÂs book, Grumble HallelujahâÂÂLearning to Love Your Life Even When It Lets you Down addresses different times and circumstances that get in the way of living a life of praise. Each chapter encourages the reader to âÂÂlet goâ of something that pulls our focus from God and from how praise-worthy He isâÂÂletting go of the life that was supposed to be, letting go of the tough girl act, letting go of fear and control, letting go of judgment, and so on.
I enjoyed reading this book. Some chapters were more applicable and helpful to me than others of course, but throughout each chapter, the author encourages the reader to continue to praise and honor God, even if we can only manage to âÂÂgrumble a hallelujah.â The authorâÂÂs openness about her own struggles was helpful as well and I could identify with some of them. I think Grumble Hallelujah has a message well worth reading.
