Growing Up Amish is the true story of one mans quest to discover who he is and where he belongs. Happily ex-AmishMiddlefield, OHAge: 25-34Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5Good ReadDecember 12, 2014Happily ex-AmishMiddlefield, OHAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4This is a very accurate portrayal of what it's like to grow up within an Amish community. I also grew up Amish, and this is one of the few books I've found that accurately describe life inside the Amish culture. Ira Wagler deserves praise for his courage in stepping out and embracing Christ's freedom. It is not an easy thing to do.
rlighthousePAAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5InterestingJune 25, 2013rlighthousePAAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book was an interesting peek into the life of Ira Wagler who grew up Amish and graciously shared his story. Some things I already knew about the Amish way of life but there was so much new information that only someone growing up Amish would know.
