Product Description

What do we mean when we talk about small groups? Yet, perhaps it is more important to think about what it is we want to happen in those small groups? That is the question seven small group specialists gathered together to discuss and what they came up with was a definition of small groups that is as follows,

"a transformational community that studies the Bible, prays and participates in God's mission together for the purposes of God's transforming work".

On this definition, the authors show how to create a group that functions in this way, and what steps need to be taken to achieve the formation of biblically centered small group.

Thus, if you want to build a lively and biblically based small group, the Small Group Leader's Handbook will help you develop a transformational community that will impact your people for the rest of their lives.

Publisher's Description

What do we mean when we talk about small groups? And more importantly: what do we expect to happen when people gather in this way? The small group that wrote this book—made up of current and former campus ministry professionals with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship—sees a small group as: a community that studies the Bible, prays and participates in God's mission together for the purposes of God's transforming work. Small groups are about transformation, and in this book transformation is given flesh and blood in the faces and names of the people you lead.
