Grace Meredith is an up and coming Contemporary Christian Music singer. She is well-known for sharing her message about purity during her concerts. Her passionate message stems from secrets from her past. Secrets that she wants to keep hidden. All seems well in life as she will soon be heading home to Chicago after her New Year, New You tour. Grace loves touring but she is looking forward to returning home so she can see her family and her fiancé, Roger. She is so excited to be engaged and feels it helps her share her purity message with even more passion. Before Grace returns home she receives a shocking call from Roger. He is breaking off their engagement as he feels her career is taking away from their relationship. Grace returns home heart-broken.

This is just the beginning of Grace's journey in the first of the Windy City Neighbors series. Grace's story is truly a heartwarming story about the grace and forgiveness that The Lord extends to us. For me, this was a page-turner and it was hard to put the book down. It was full of life lessons, romance and mystery. I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the second book Derailed to come out in October!

Lots of words come to mind when you ask me about Dave and Neta Jackson's book Grounded:

    "Very Enjoyable."

"Lots of grace and a delightful read."

    "I savored the story."

This begins to describe what I thought about Grounded, the first book in the Windy City Neighbors Series.

The descriptive, writing brought me to the places the characters were.

I wished I could meet these people.

Grace's spiritual journey was satisfying and I was very happy at the hope she had found when the book ended. The spiritual insight and growth in her journey was rich and believable.

Their were meaningful, loving relationships shown here, from Grace's loyal and caring assistant Samantha to Estelle who opened her arms and home to Grace.

The plot was so real and very heart warming. The ending was hopeful and inspiring yet it left room for a sequel.

This book left me knowing that I want to read more of this authors work because I loved Grounded so much. I look forward to the sequels!

Thank you so much to Worthy Publishing for sending me this book!

Grounded started out a little bit slow to me. When Grace gets stuck at home in the snow without anyone to talk to (in part because she can't!), I wanted her to get out and meet some of the Jacksons' cast of characters we all love so much. I was so happy when the Bentleys moved in across the street!

I was ready for Grace's to confess her secret that's weighing her down to someone, anyone. Maybe just because I am impatient!

While Grounded does have all the trademark Jackson elements I love {characters that feel like friends of our own, the familiar setting of Chicago (one of my favorite vacation destinations, so I feel I know all the places they are talking about), and praying through a spiritual struggle}, I also like the bit of romance thrown in. The romance element, at least the way it is done this time around, is different than any of the previous books or series.

Grace is so much more likeable than Kat in the Souled Out Sisters series, that really think I'm going to love this new series even more than Neta's last. I'm excited to read the next installment to find out what happens with Grace and the rest of the neighborhood next.

As a huge fan of Dave & Neta Jackson's previous works, I couldn't wait to sit down with their new book. It was a little hard for me to get in to at first, but once I did, I didn't want to put it down!

I've read Neta's previous Yada Yada Prayer Group Series and loved each book. Then, moving on to the House of Hope books, I loved getting to read a new story while seeing old characters that I'd grown to love. With the House of Hope series, Dave began to write "parallel" novels to go with the series. You see some of the same events going on, just from a different character's perspective. I loved it! You get so much more of the story this way. I was so excited to find out that The Windy City Neighbors Series was going to be a series of parallel novels!

Grace is a great main character and I loved the themes of forgiveness and God's Grace. There are so many of us that have done things in the past that make us feel that we are totally unworthy of God's Love and this book is a great reminder that his Grace is there for each of us, no matter what we've done. I also loved seeing some of my favorite characters from the House of Hope series!

I can't wait to read the next books in this series to see the developments with these characters!
