"Many people think that it's impossible to reduce your grocery bill by 50%. But you can. Steve and Annette Economides provide step-by-step instructions in "Cut Your Grocery Bill in Half." Tools that are practical and easy to follow. No special shopping or cooking skills required. Anyone can see a surprising reduction in their grocery budget if they follow the Economides' methods. And, best of all, the savings begin right away. You don't need to finish the whole book to benefit. You'll find money-saving ideas that you can put to use in the first chapter, and every chapter thereafter. Normally I advise people to check books out of the library and save the cost of the book. But this is one do-it-yourself guide to lower grocery bills that you'll want to have on your bookshelf or kitchen countertop."

TracyCanadaAge: 25-34Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5It was okayJanuary 28, 2013TracyCanadaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3I have to say, I wasn't a 100% impressed with this book, I was really prepared to like this, and lean alot from this couple. However I found that most advice was a lot of common sense, or advice seen on a lot of the debt-help shows. Plus, as a Canadian, I didn't feel like a lot of what was suggested would work for us anyway (we don't have the same types of sales, etc...). So while there was a lot of good advice in the book, to me it was something that either I'd already heard/read, or would have figured out on my own.
I liked some of the suggestions, but other ones struck me as unrealistic, or not something you'd want to do (such as freezing your milk, I always find that my milk tastes different, and not in a good way!) But I did really appreciate all the recipes they provided, I'm always happy to learn to make something new in the kitchen. Especially when the recipes were so budget friendly!!
The book was however well written and in an easy to read format, so it wasn't a struggle to get through. So I'd still recommend this to people, but would say its more for an American family rather than a Canadian.

We are a family of ten, and so any cost-saving advice is appreciated, but a lot of the tips I have already heard - so for me, it was a reminder of things I already knew. But for someone else, there could be a lot of very good knowledge gained here. Overall I recommend this to any family looking for ways to cut the budget in this area.
taltracy4 Stars Out Of 5Great book, but I can't load it on my Sony readerJanuary 9, 2011taltracyQuality: 4Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3I bought this from CBD, because I wanted to load it onto my Sony reader, but it won't transfer over. This limits me to read it on my computer, which I can't carry around with me. Other than that problem, the book was/is a great purchase.

I'm one of those people, who if I can get it cheap or free, I put the extra effort in. So I was excited to read this book, looking for some other tips how to cut some of the bills. Since I do shop in the US often for groceries, I found the much of the advice useful. And some of the tips, I was already doing. There are some great ideas for a family to save some money. Great advice for someone just starting to reduce the bills for groceries. Some ideas where common sense. But if you apply just a few ideas, you will save money. I did enjoy this book and will share it with some of my budget conscious friends. My personal favourite site to find a deal in Canada is www.smartcanucks.ca
The wonderful folks at Thomas Nelson provided me with a complimentary copy of this book through Booksneeze. My opinions were my own.

So far the whole experience is a no go, but I'm hopeful I will actually be able to read it someday...
