I have learned so much from this book. Each entry is short enough to read in minutes but there's enough "in there" that you will find yourself re-reading it and the Biblical reference with each lesson. He has an interesting insight into Bible stories I've been familiar with for years. It's a really good book.I plan on using it with my Sunday School class too.

I love books!! I love feel, smell, and the promises of treasured truth inside, but in recent years, I have come to remember often Ecclesiastes 12:11-12. We are truly inundated with them. BUT!! HOW PRECIOUS TO RISK READING JUST ONE MORE...Bravo, Dr. Swindoll!! I purchased this book to read as a companion during long season enforced quiet--I needed to re-hear God's voice for my ministry; to get away from too many other voices. Dr. Swindoll's love for truth, his humor, his own transparency in the book --well, the Lord not only revived me and the original vision He had for me, but the truths contained within healed wounds long covered and neglected. May I encourage you to risk getting one more book --THIS ONE!!

I was reading this book while my daughter was fighting cancer and I shared some wonderful things from it with her. She died on August 17th, and I am so glad that we were able to share some meaningful moments through reading Great Days with the Great Lives.

I have given this book as gifts several times and recommend it often. It is a wonderful life application book. It works well for the new Christian and is very thought provoking for a more mature Christian as well. It is great!
