I have spent considerable time studying creation, the flood and the origin of the geologic record we see today. Ever since I came across the book this film is based on, In The Beginning, by Walt Brown, I have been hoping that someone would put just such a project together concerning the Grand Canyon. This film did a terrific job of explaining how the Grand Canyon formed while clarifying why other theories just don't hold water (pun intended). That, and I am very thankful for how he ended the film - with 2 Corinthians 5:17 and not the "sinner's prayer" that isn't even scriptural. I would HIGHLY recommend this video to anyone - believer or not - as a very logically thought out answer to the question of the Grand Canyon's origin.

It is also especially helpful if you have read Walt Brown's book, In the Beginning, as it helps connect a lot of the dots.

    God bless!

I have hiked all over the Grand Canyon and as a whitewater raft guide got to row the Colorado River in GC twice. I was not a Christian then... I saw inconsistencies and contradictions in what i was taught (old earth paradigm) God used his creation to witness to me. This dvd is one of the best vids i have ever seen showing how the Grand Canyon really formed. You will really love this!

I have been to the Grand Canyon and was very dissatisfied with the Park Ranger explanations for how this wonder of the world was formed. Even those in support of the idea that the Colorado River carved the canyon over millions of years know that there are many problems with this simplistic suggestion.

The Answers in Genesis (AiG) museum features a catastrophic breached dam explanation, but they do not explain how the 30 mile wide and 2,000 foot high Kaibab Limestone dam could be breached; nor do they explain how many of the other features of the Grand Canyon were formed. Therefore, they are just as lacking in providing an explanation as those believing the Colorado River carved it.

But now someone has finally enlightened the subject in a way that makes sense. This "Mission: Imperative!" DVD has done a wonderful job providing a scientifically sound explanation for how the Grand Canyon was formed. Mike Snavely does a thorough job of presenting existing theories and their weaknesses and offers a solution that invokes common sense and is awe inspiring; a true eureka moment for all those who have been dissatisfied by secular and AiG explanations.

I'd seen the Grand Canyon several times and wondered how the Colorado River could make such an incredible slice through the Mogollon Plateau while other rivers (like the Mississippi, Allegheny, Missouri, etc.) have not carved anything nearly as impressive.

Then I saw this DVD. The explanation of events, on location video, and graphics make perfect sense out of the many unique geologic features found throughout the entire Four Corners region.
