Unfortunaly I had to buy some books to get me through the process of a divorce of 24 years. However, I am fortunate that Christian book had this book. Very informative. Hopefully no one I know will b going through one but, if they were I would highly recommend this book.

Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am a clinical psychologist specializing in working with relationship issues. I have been privileged to see how God's grace works in the lives of my clients in the midst of life's most difficult challenges. I am also an educator for the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Southern California where I teach students in the Marriage and Family Therapy program.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I was widowed at the age of 32 and over the years I observed how similar my experience of grief was with those who had gone through a divorce. But this experience didn't seem to be recognized or acknowledged. I decided to research this as part of my doctoral work. Later, I brought what I learned into my practice and found that my clients benefited tremendously - lowering the intensity of their divorce while at the same time experiencing God on a deeper level.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope that readers will learn that God's grace is sufficient for any experience in life - including divorce. I also hope that individuals will learn some psychological and spiritual insights and skills to help them grow in any circumstance.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  I was, and continue to be, grateful for the women who agreed to share their journeys of grief in divorce. They showed me that the most painful of life's circumstances can be redeemed for the greater good.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I love the works of authors who open up new perspectives for me - John Eldridge, Gary Thomas, Richard Rohr, and Phillip Yancey - come to mind.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I hope that those who have been touched by divorce - directly or indirectly - will recognize that there are no second class citizens in Christianity. We are all in need of God's grace.
