This book by Neil Lightfoot if filled with information regarding a subject this few know anything about. I asked one person how we got our Bible, and she replied, "I got mine in a Bookstore." I am sure this sums up what most believers know about about how we got our Bible. Neil Lightfoot has done a truly remarkable job in researching and recording a vast amount of information that all believers need to know.

This is the 3rd edition. I now have all three. It is a good, easy read, which makes it ideal for those of us with un-technical minds. I have such books more detailed and more technical. I prefer this one for the read.

How We Got The Bible by Neil Lightfoot is a good, concise history of ancient manscripts and English Bible versions. Sound scholarship underlies Lightfoot's book, yet it is accessible by both students and scholars. Highly recommended to those who want to study this intriguing issue without the technical jargon found in the larger seminary oriented works.
