In this updated edition of A Strong Delusion, author and counselor Joe Dallas helps readers understand what pro-gay theology is and how to confront it. In a biblical manner, Dallas examines believers' personal responses and the need for bold love and commitment as they
- become familiar with the movement's background and beliefs
- study a clear, scriptural response to each belief
- extend Christ's love to those living the homosexual lifestyle
This resource is an important one for those who have been unsure how to respond to the growing acceptance of homosexuality in the evangelical community. It offers the balance between conviction and compassion and a practical guide to communicating with those who have embraced the pro-gay Christian movement.
Joe Dallas is an author, speaker, and pastoral counselor who conducts seminars nationwide. He is the founder of Genesis Biblical Solutions in Tustin, California, and has written six books on human sexuality from a Christian perspective, including such authoritative resources as the bestselling Desires in Conflict, The Complete Christian Guide to Understanding Homosexuality, and The Gay Gospel? His articles have been featured in Christianity Today magazine and the Journal of Psychology and Christianity, and he is a regular contributor to the Christian Research Journal.
"More than ever, Christians are challenged to articulate and defend the Bible's position on homosexuality. In The Gay Gospel? Joe Dallas—one of Christianity's most able and articulate spokesmen on human sexuality—codifies the arguments and arms us with clear, concise, and convincing answers. This resource is both compelling and compassionate."
—Hank Hanegraaff, President of the Christian Research Institute and host of The Bible Answer Man
"The Gay Gospel? is a must read for all who sincerely seek the cleanest explanation yet for the Christian attitude toward homosexuality. I pray that this work will have the impact on all segments of our society that it deserves."
—D. James Kennedy, Ph.D., Coral Ridge Ministries
"To be caught in the trap of homosexuality is difficult enough, but to be held captive in a strong delusion of a false gospel requires the strong arm of truth. Writing the truth in love, Joe Dallas reveals how to set the captives free."
—Janet Parshall, nationally syndicated radio host
"A powerful resource for those combating pro-gay theology, whether in their family, church or denomination. A former insider, Dallas used to ardently defend the same arguments he now skillfully demolishes."
—Bob Davies, former Executive Director, Exodus International—North America
"Joe Dallas' new book, The Gay Gospel?, is a must read for anyone seeking truth regarding pro-gay theology and reaching those bound by same-gender attraction. Once again, Joe has thoroughly and clearly presented biblical truths while offering practical steps and tools to be more effective in evangelizing the gay community. Ultimately, the content of Joe's book cements the fact that the entire issue of homosexuality is really about the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of Scripture."
—Pastor Phillip Lee, Executive Director, His Way Out Ministries
"As a pastor of a church in the heart of the gay and lesbian community of San Diego, I am very pleased to recommend Joe Dallas' book, The Gay Gospel? Joe does an excellent job of helping us understand what happens when two of our most basic drives are in conflict: the desire for an intimate relationship with God and the desire for an intimate relationship with another. It is necessary to understand not only the way Scripture is adjusted to meet the demand of a biased viewpoint but it is also necessary to understand the motivation behind doing so. Joe helps us come to a compassionate understanding while still holding firm to the Gospel. If you want to engage the people in your congregation who are struggling to balance their spiritual desires with their sexual drives, this book is a must read. If you want to understand the process by which one comes to embrace error in order to accommodate desire, you need to read this book."
—Rev. Jack M. Sampier, Senior Pastor of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God
Celeste Holmes5 Stars Out Of 5The Gay Gospel? How Pro-Gay Advocates Misread the BibleJanuary 3, 2015Celeste HolmesQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As someone who has worked with many brothers and sisters in Christ with unwanted SSA -- and have seen many many freed from that stronghold -- I consider this book a must read for anyone who desires to help a brother or sister out of SSA, as well as the struggler themselves. For that matter, it is a must read for the entire church as we hear of more and more churches compromising Truth on this issue in hopes of avoiding confrontation.
seriousscholarWashington, DCAge: 45-54Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Doesn't hold scholarly theological weightNovember 14, 2011seriousscholarWashington, DCAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I have a brother-in-law who is gay, and a sister who is gay. I was raised in the Christian tradition, and have openly and earnestly sought to understand the morality of homosexuality as both a believer and an academic. This book disappoints from an academic/scholarly perspective. While I wish I could find a credible source to uphold the immorality of homosexuality, this book fails to prove its premise based on high standards of academic scrutiny. I am a professional academic researcher and theological historian who is disappointed here to say the least.
Sherri Pardo5 Stars Out Of 5August 20, 2010Sherri PardoThis book is everything I was looking for! I am a Christian woman who has both a sister and a brother who are gay and who attend churches that accept homosexual behavior as normal and non-sinful. I had heard all the pro-gay arguments, some of which twist the Scripture in incredible ways, but I did not always have good answers to back up my opposing point of view. This book not only clarified everything for me, but inspired me and encouraged me that there is a way Christians can be loving and compassionate toward gays without having to compromise the truth. Many thanks to the author for using his comprehensive knowledge of the Bible combined with the insight that comes only from experience in order to produce a wonderful book. This book would be of great help to anyone struggling with these issues and should be read by every Christian, especially those in positions of leadership in the church.
Susan Gentry5 Stars Out Of 5November 23, 2009Susan GentryAs a parent of a son who has claimed and walked as a believer from 13 til now 27 involoved with Precept ministries and indepth bible study whom I have just found out has been struggling with Homosexual desires for years. I needed to know what he was being told by these friends (he meet in a bible teaching church) pastors (who have counseled him)in that he was born that way. This book gives why they believe the bible is not against homosexual relationships, what they believe and how they reword or misread the bible. VERY INSIGHTFUL!! Must read to help other's or yourself.

However the Bible declares otherrwise. Written with much forethought and first hand experience, Joe Dallas makes a good case against the gay gospel
