This is an excellent book so far and I believe the rest of the book that I am still reading is going to be just as excellent as what I have already read. The parallels between Disney movies and good vs. evil are explained so clearly and precisely making them very easy to understand. Each chapter has review-type questions to either ask yourself or others if you are doing this as a group lesson. I plan to use this with my children as a Bible study and then watch the movie that goes with the lesson when we finish each chapter. Although my children are elementary age these chapters could be used for any age...as an adult I am gleaning a lot from the neat insights and comparisons. This is an excellent book that I highly recommend!

We are using this book for Sunday morning Bible study and have found this a delightful way to help us understand some of the concepts found in scripture. The book is so well written that it is a joy to read.

I found The Gospel in Disney to be an inspiring and entertaining resource. As one who teaches youth and children, I appreciate positive entertainment media that can serve to illustrate the principles we all need to know yet have difficulty learning and then accepting. My only wish is that the book of essays (with 5-6 discussion questions at the end of each chapter) be retooled with the same information being presented in a workbook style employing different exercises to use as lessons in a youth Bible study class.

We have decided to use this book in our Adult Sunday School class 2008-2009. After studying the first two chapters, I'm very excited about this study. There is so much to learn and the illustrations from the movies I grew up with are very helpful and make the scripture very meaningful.

I am enjoying this book. I feel some of the ideas portrayed in the book are a stretch. But it is good to be able to view some Disney classics in the Christian light!

There are intriguing messages that can inspire and impact our lives in many places. One such place is the Disney classic film collection. Read this good book and be surprised by the humor and wisdom that is sorely needed in our culture. Children young and old will be glad that they read this book. Stories often have a more lasting impact than exhortation. This book will leave a gospel taste in your mouth. Observe Pinocchio who learns about becoming a real person by telling the truth. The axiom "A lie becomes as plain as the nose on your face" has grist for the political process today. Dumbo reveals that everyone has something to appreciate. Bambi also suggests that everything born has some beauty. Alice in Wonderland teaches about the egregious use of power. Peter Pan helps to acknowledge that "everyone has an impact on other lives, for good or ill". This insightful book about Disney's values reminds us that the old is often better than something new! Indulge!

I gave this as a gift to my wife and she absolutely loves it and promises to buy the others in the set as well. Saying and I quote "this may be the best gift you have ever given." This book is not my style and I have not read it, but from her reaction to reading it. I would say that if you have a loved one or friend that loves Disney and is a Christian that it is a safe bet they should love it. And at such a price.

This was a book that opened my eyes to Disney movies. I never realized the religious ideas that were in the movies. I love Disney movies and this book made me realize that message. I didn't even see they were there. I loved that my eyes were opened. I intend to keep this book forever and read it again and again.
