God is Great by Carolyn Larsen is a perfect book for a 4 year old girl! At least my 4 year old girl thinks so.
This Bible storybook will begin teaching toddlers about God by telling 17 stories from Creation to the Resurrection in age appropriate language. The illustrations are colorful, fun and 'child like' which provides an added element that will help engage your toddler as you read the stories to them.
I read the storybook and thought it was well-written and the summaries are storied for kids while maintaining key biblical concepts. After reading it myself, I called my 4 year old over and told her I had a book just for her. She crawled up next to me on the couch and I began reading it to her. She found the book to be great as well!
Let me share two comments from her. I read the story called 'God Starts Over' about Noah and the ark. The 4th and last sentence are the same: God hates sin. I finished reading this page and with a smile across her face and a serious look in her eye, she tells me, "Daddy, I love sin." Out of the mouth of babes! After we talked for a bit and laughed together, I continued to read. We came to the story of Samson and my 4 year old looked at the illustration and said, "Daddy, that is a girl, she has on makeup." Needless to say, reading the rest of the book was interesting!
It is my prayer that reading, talking, and laughing together about these stories will begin to build into my daughter a love for God's Word and a desire to read it. This is a wonderful book for any daddy to read to his daughter (or son)!

I got this book because my wife and I are expecting our first baby this coming June. After looking through this book I cannot wait to share it with my son and his future brothers or sisters. I know it will be a valuable resource to share the Bible with our children. The illustrations are colorful, professional, and fitting for the stories. I know my son will love reading this with his mom and dad until he can read it on his own. I know you will love this resource as much as I do.
