Go for the Code: Book C is the third and last book of three preliteracy primers which together introduce all consonant letters; they are designed to be used before the Explode the Code series. Covering early literacy skills and letter formation, students will learn letters through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities that include tracing, matching, tracking, copying, and following directions. Book C teaches students initial and final consonants c, g, l, q, v, w, x, y, and z with an emphasis on phonemic awareness and sound-letter correspondence. This final book also includes review pages that cover all initial consonant sounds taught in the previous two books, as well as this volume.
Special emphasis is given to discriminating between similar objects and letters, to developing the motor control necessary to write legibly, and to developing the listening skills children need to follow directions carefully.
The Explode the Code Teacher's Guide for Books A, B, and C (sold-separately) includes the teacher's portion of the listening exercises given in this workbook.

They have made continual progress beginning with Book A to B and now C. The repetition allows them to build schema through the pictures and thus helps them make connections with the sounds. I am very pleased with this series.

It has really helped her with writing her letters and she loved all the activities in each section. I am definitely glad that we started at this level for her as it has given her such a great sense of accomplishment to have simple activities to do while working on her letter writing and sounds.
