Tell us a little about yourself. I graduated home school high school in 2007, and live in the beautiful piney woods of Texas, with my parents, six brothers, and sister. Ever since I was very young, the Lord has given me a vision to encourage girls in their walk with Christ. This is my second book to Christian daughters.
What was your motivation behind this project? My goal in All Glorious Within was to encourage girls to live fully for our Lord and Savior. I also endeavored to exhort them that true beauty resides within--and they can attain that beauty through a noble, victorious walk with Christ.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? It is my prayer that young ladies who read All Glorious Within will be motivated to glorify God in everything they do. I also want daughters to be reminded that they are not alone--the Lord will never leave or forsake them (Hebrews 13:5)--and that there are many other Christians who long to live fully for Him.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? One evening I felt especially overwhelmed by the amount of work regarding All Glorious Within. I realized that publishing the book was going to take longer than I had initially anticipated. When I shared these thoughts with my sister, she said, "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established." That verse--Proverbs 16:3--became one that I referred to often as I worked on this book. God taught me that His way is perfect, and His plans are greater than mine. He gave me several Scriptures that reminded me of the importance of being surrendered to His will. The Lord showed His faithfulness in orchestrating many "last minute details"--I definitely saw His goodness in countless ways! I praise God for everything He taught me through this project and give Him all the glory for the many wonderful things He has done and continues to do every day!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I deeply value my parents' influence on my life. The way they have raised me has positively impacted me for Christ, as has their godly counsel. I also enjoy reading edifying books and being with godly family and friends that exhort me in the Lord. But the greatest source of encouragement, inspiration, and teaching I receive comes from God's Word. Truly, there is no greater treasure to a Christian! My parents have always taught their children to daily spend time with the Lord, and I am reaping the benefits of that habit! The Lord has shown me, however, that to truly grow in Him, I must not only read His Word, but I must also apply it to my life.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: A passage of Scripture that is meaningful to me is Psalm 5:11-12, "But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them: let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee. For Thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt Thou compass him as with a shield." Christians who are resting peacefully in God's perfect will for their lives can rejoice, because the Lord is with them! As we learn to love Him, trust Him, seek Him, and remain His faithful and devoted servant, we can be joyful in knowing that He will not forsake us. Christian friends, continue standing strong in the Lord--do not grow weary in well doing; you will reap if you do not faint!
