Worth it
This book is a little heavy on the detail, but still worth the read.

What a testimony!
If you are looking for a great example of how we are called to live as followers of Christ, you will find this book a huge encouragement - at least I did. I've read many a Christian book, and I would say that this one along with Francis Chan's "Crazy Love" have been the most impactful and motivating books I have read. No book has single-handedly shaped my view of money to a more Godly view than this one. George Mueller leaves us a great of example of what God can do through an individual who walks by faith. I highly recommend this to anyone seeking to live life by faith and not settle for the things of this world. I could not put it down. God Bless!

Reads like a boring textbook
I would have rated this book 1.5 stars if I could have, but certainly not because of George Mueller's incredible, exciting, and amazing life. That would rate 5+++ stars! Rather, this rating is for Roger Steer's book, which takes this man's unbelievable life story and makes a dry, boring textbook of it, devoid of any emotion or joy. If you're writing a term paper for a professor who is a stickler for facts, especially lots and lots of date facts, this book will help you out with that. If, however, you're looking for a biography that reads like a good story, keep on looking. This one put me to sleep many a night.
