As an elder in a Presbyterian church, I passionately urge those who want to understand the Bible and God's Plan of Salvation to read "The Genesis Genealogies" written by Rev. Abraham Park. By reading this book with prayer, you will come to understand not only the genealogies written in Genesis but also appreciate God's mysterious and profound providence in the history of redemption of mankind. Man's history runs parallel with God's history of redemption. And the Bible, which is inspired by the Holy Spirit, records this history of redemption and progressively reveals the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the Saviour of fallen mankind. It starts, in the 1st part of five, with the Bible verse found in Moses' song in (Deuteronomy 32:7). "Remember the days of old, consider the years of all generations. Ask your father, he will inform you, your elders, they will tell you." The author explains the meaning of this verse from its original Hebrew language. The 2nd part of the book describes genealogies. We usually glance over the boring genealogies when we read the Bible but the author shows us how to study them. The 3rd part mentions Cain and his ungodly descendants. The 4th part talks about Shem's godly lineage. How Enoch didn't see death and how Noah's Ark was built in less than 100 years and not 120 years! The 5th part tells of how Abraham lived a life of separation in order to fulfill God's calling. This humble review does not do enough justice to the book written by Rev. Abraham Park. He is publishing a series of 12 books about the History of Redemption. The Genesis Genealogies is the 1st book of the History of Redemption Series. The second book is about the Covenant of the Torch God made with Abraham. I sincerely and truly urge all who want to understand the Bible to read it! I have received much grace from it and I pray in the Name of Jesus, God will bless you too as you read "the Genesis Genealogies"! This is a book you must read over and over many times!
I'm on my fourth time through the book and it continues to stay fresh with Biblical wisdom and cleansing power. It is amazing to experience something like the genealogies of Genesis, which is usually skipped over, turn from a historical list of names into a bouquet of amazing insight and revelation. On page 172 of his book The Genesis Genealogies, Rev. Abraham Park states, "The flow of the lineage from Seth until Abraham can be summed up as the process of being set apart from the world through adherence to the Word of God." This book takes us on a journey to help us to live lives set apart from this world, taking us into a deeper and more intimate relationship with God and His plan for for our salvation. If we read this book with a humble and prayerful heart we are sure to be transformed. What seems to have been lost, forgotten about or overlooked comes alive in this book that is sure to inspire you and to refresh your relationship with God and His precious Word.
