factual, respectful, very much what I imagine it must have been like for multi-generational families living together and learning history and learning God from family members. The slower, pensive style enables the viewer to more fully ponder and grasp God, no matter what their age - even I, an adult, cherish the opportunity to meditate and marinate in God's Word.
While watching this film, I found myself both dismayed and very disappointed. I have since watched it a few more times over the past year to see if my opinion would change, but it has not. While the idea of telling Genesis through a storyteller is an interesting one, the story of Genesis itself (as told by the storyteller and portrayed by the actors / actresses) is at best very loosely connected with what is written in Scripture, and at worst you wonder what the script writers, prop designers, director, etc. were thinking when they put this film together. The actors / actresses acted well, but the liberties taken in this film are often extreme, not in accord with what is written in Scripture, and (in my opinion) ruined the film.A previous reviewer commented on Noah's Ark, but left out that it is an extremely crude wooden raft-like platform with an equally crude, poorly constructed structure on top. I think everyone and everything on board would have drowned or died of pneumonia had God designed and Noah built an ark like the one portrayed in this film. Overall, I would not recommend this film to anyone. The only redeeming quality about this film is that the actors / actresses were wisely chosen and did a good job with the script they were given. It is unfortunate that the cannot be said for the script, props, and many other elements of this film.
Was disappointing in overall content as it did not adhere to scripture as it is presented. Just as an example, Noah and the Ark had more than eight people on board the arc during the year and it was portrayed as a leaking and creaking sieve. Genesis made it seem as if the early people did not actually speak a spoken language. I will not purchase a product by this author again.
