Great gift
This book was less expensive than at my local retailer. I hadn't noticed when I ordered that it was hardcover, so when I opened it, I was greatly pleased! This was to be a gift for a family member who is a Cowboys fan and needs the extra encouragement from a positive role model. He was excited when he opened it and said he would definitely read it. The shipment arrived earlier than expected, and the packaging was in perfect order. Thank you very much!

Build Character with Game On!
After watching this "smooth moves" entertainer, it will be delightful to learn about the man behind the dancer.
Emmitt Smith, the NFLâÂÂs all-time leading rusher of the Dallas Cowboys, Dancing with the Stars champion, and successful real-estate investor, outlines the principles that helped him become a winner on and off the football field. In "Game On" he encourages you to live your God-given dream, now. Emmitt reveals that itâÂÂs not only vision and talent that propel us toward our dreams, but also a combination of determination, persistence, humility, courage, and faith. In this book, Emmitt gives readers the tools to pursue their dream with all their mind, heart, and soul.
The best part of "Game On" is author Emmitt Smith's ability to draw his reader into his plan (that works!) to dream, set goals, and then build on the strengths God has given you.
I found myself thinking seriously about dreams and goals I still want to achieve. Not only dreams and goals, but a very important part of this book deals with principles that are determined by our character traits. Chapter 3 "Follow Your Path", discusses the content of our character. I was very impressed with this chapter as the author reminds us that in order to be of good character we put the needs of others first, not always an easy thing to do. Well, I believe that is "Game On"!
Emmitt shares many football stories throughout the book, which would attract many sports enthusiasts to read his inspiring story. In particular, stories of his time spent with football legend, Walter Payton, deserve to be read.

It's Football
Well, itâÂÂs a self help book. Specifically itâÂÂs about setting goals and carrying through on them. ItâÂÂs not really that unique content wise as far as self help books go. The only big difference is itâÂÂs written by a football player so it may appeal to sports fan who regularly wouldnâÂÂt read something like this. Actually, you may just enjoy the book for all the football it contains (my favorite part). And yes, itâÂÂs a Christian book because of the frequent use of Scripture but it certainly isnâÂÂt very theologically profound. Either way, I think itâÂÂs worth reading if your a sports fan.

Informative and Inspirational
I enjoyed Emmitt Smith's book that offers a loot at his journey through childhood all the way through his very successful football career and up to today where is a successful commercial real estate investor and builder. I enjoyed the honesty in this book and the admiration he has for his family is quite inspirational. He is very vocal about how his belief in Jesus has shaped who he is now and how everything he does he wants to glorify God. He was very focused and goal oriented and everything he did, he gave his all. I believe anyone who reads this will definitely get something out of it. He does a great job pointing out that you can't go through life alone and the accomplishments you do have are because of the people around you. He gives great examples of this on the football field. His admiration and gratitude for Daryl Johnston actually brought a few tears to my eyes. I also loved the part about when he was in high school and made a touchdown and did a celebratory dance on the field and afterwards his dad came up to him and told him that he was proud of him for his touchdown but not to act like he hadn't been in the endzone before. All in all, a great read and some very good information on how to make your dreams into reality.
I received this book free from Tyndale Publishers in exchange for my review.
