Yvonne GAge: 35-44Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Don't waste your time.May 4, 2013Yvonne GAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1Honestly, I did not finish the book. I forced my way through about 4 or 5 chapters and then deleted it from my reader and library.
One of the main characters, "Silver," is self-absorbed, shallow, and rather stupid. He is the only one seeming to support Israel, yet when challenged by a Palestinian terrorist, he can not defend a single belief.
This is an absolutely biased book for a "two state solution." If you are an ardent (and educated) Israel supporter, reading this will only make you mad. I tried to keep an open mind and listen to the opposing arguments, but only wound up offended at the inept defenses given.
At one point God was accused of being prejudiced for choosing to bless Israel above all nations.
Daws1996VirginiaAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Intrigue, Action, Historical ContextSeptember 27, 2012Daws1996VirginiaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If you know anything about the Left Behind series, you know a vast population of Christians believe that the events of Revelation are coming in the near future. This book, by contrast, puts forth the reasoning behind why some believe many of the events happened hundreds of years ago.
The historial information included in the dialogue sometimes felt forced, but I found it necessary for my own information. Explanations and details that put the current Israeli/Palestinian conflict into perspective helped me better understand some of the deeper issues inherent in the tensions. I'm sure I would not have understood some of the events within the novel without this additional information.
I also appreciated the glimpse into the thinking of those on the Palestinian side, as well as the obvious conflict within the main character as he tried to follow his faith without trampling on those many feel are completely in the wrong. The balance of sympathetic and infuriating characters on both sides of these events was well done.
Overall, this book is action-packed and kept me guessing until near the end on who was really the "bad" guy (besides the obvious terrorist). It also made me think about some things that I don't often spend much time thinking about, which I love to find in fiction.
If you love learning history from fiction or need a good action-suspense novel, this might be the perfect book for you!
Andrew WapakalaNairobi, KenyaAge: 25-34Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5Interesting plotJuly 26, 2012Andrew WapakalaNairobi, KenyaAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2The plot in the story is interesting and though at times it gets slow the suspense does pick up enough to keep you hooked.
The theology presented in the book also gets you to think quite a bit about what the Bible actually teaches on the end-times and dispensationalism as well. The Palestinian side of the Israel-Palestine conflict is presented well giving a more human view to the things the Palestinians actually go through.
DinoAustriaAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5A good read, which makes you review your theologyJanuary 18, 2012DinoAustriaAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I bought this book out of interest and found it difficult to put down. A great mix up of plots threading through the story heading for a show down on the temple mount.
At the same time, it caused me to rethink my end time theology, bringing a very human perspective to the Palestinian Position.
A recommended read!

Moved through story very well. Some slow spots but not so slow you lose focus. Historical and geographical references throughout book were great. Overall a great read!
