Publisher's Description

He just witnessed a murder...and now the killer is on his trail.
But no one will believe him!

Ever since his parents drowned while crossing the Atlantic after a revival, Daniel Cooper has felt as if the world is out to get him. For the past year he's had to live with his Uncle Asa and Aunt Camilla -- and all their rules. One night, deciding he's had enough, Daniel sneaks out his bedroom window and flees to the alley behind his employer's casket shop. What he sees there shocks him to the core.

Pursued by two men, Daniel embarks on an agonizing journey...through deceit and betrayal. A journey that will test his physical stamina and challenge his understanding of God and friendship. A journey that may well change his life...if it doesn't kill him first.

The Great Awakening Series is awesome. These are four great books that I found difficult to put down, and once I was finished with one, would grab the next one to begin. I didn't want any of them to end. Bill Bright, you are missed!

This is one of the most gripping stories I've ever read.Young Daniel Cooper, an orphan who lives with his uncle and aunt, is tired of being told what to do by his constricting uncle. So one night he climbs down the tree by his window and goes to an alley to play his recorder. There he witnesses a crime so heineous and bewildering that he doesn't know what to do. Was it really his employer who he had seen in the dark alley, backing the crime? And did they see his recorder he had left in the open? No one seems to believe his story, even his kind aunt. When things turn sticky--and dangerous--Daniel flees for his life. Ending up in upstate New York, he makes friends with some young people. They declare he must go to the service Finney is preaching. With twists and turns, sorrow and humor, this book provides a heart-racing ride and a powerful message.

Fury by Jack Cavanaugh and Bill Bright was amazing. The story was so well thought out and outlined, that perfection permeates the pages. The characters have such life and humanistic traits given to them, that you can't help but be drawn to them and the story. The story has a little of everything. There is murder, betrayal, humor, lust, action, romance. At least two men get their necks slit, so no complaining from that department. The miracles of God were amazing to say the least. God's love and power was so overwhelming that he changed the lives of the characters. Someone dies at the end I will not say who or by who!! Pick this book up and read it, I promise you that you won't regret it. Pick up the series and read it for it an amazing series.

Fury starts out with a bang and doesn't let up! Set in 1825-1826, Fury captures the message of repentence and forgiveness through Charles Finney's preaching, when the revival now referred to as "The Great Awakening" shakes upstate New York. The main character, Daniel, is running for his life. As the reader, your pulse will pound with his as he tries to evade a killer hot on his trail. Daniel cries for help so many times, but no one believes his story about being pursued by the killer. He's angry with God, his uncle, and just about everyone for his losses. Daniel has also hardened his heart by resisting the Holy Spirit, but as he runs from the killer, he discovers that God had been there with him all along.Fury is an engaging story demonstrating the power of deep faith, and the discouragement that often comes from battling fear, such as the real threats erupting as perceived through Daniel's gut instincts. Many difficult choices have to be made, and often without much time. When Daniel is dragged to church by friends to hear Finney preach, his world is altered...permanently.Riveting and thought-provoking, Fury leads the reader down a dark path paved by the enemy, and places readers in various situations alongside the deceptive killer, the concerned uncle, the forsaken aunt, the runaway teen Daniel, and even Daniel's wimpy boss. From each of their points of view the reader gets a healthy dose of each characters' perspective. There are light moments as well, to help break up the intensity of the story, like when Daniel pretends to be a tree come to life to scare off some boys who were picking on a younger brother, whom Daniel fiercely identified with. There were also tender moments like when Daniel realizes for the first time that beauty in a woman is much more than skin deep.Fury is a passionate story
