This book is a very real look into the unbalanced life that so many of us can find ourselves in, whether we're in ministry or not. Craig & Mary share their story because they know that the road to recovery isn't easy and they wanted to share their journey with others who find themselves on the same path. It's an honest and real look at how they worked through their life SPIN to a balanced life.

Anyone who has followed Craig Jutila in the children's ministry world knows that he is the expert of using acronyms. This book is no exception. Craig & Mary share how each of us needs to understand our SPIN - Seasons, Priorities, Isolation, Neglect. Learn to STOP - Slow Down, Think Ahead, Open up, Pause often. Set our PACE - Practice soul care, Act accordingly, Come together, Enjoy life. And continue to WALK - Watch out, Answer him, Look forward, Keep perspective. A lot is loaded into these smart acronyms and some real self evaluation needs to take place.

I greatly appreciated hearing Craig's journey as a fellow children's pastor, type ‘A' personality, hard working workaholic. They say hindsight is 20/20 and being able to see the warning signs in someone else's life is kind of like that. I'm grateful that he's shared his journey and can see areas in my life that I need to look at more closely so that I too don't end up on this same path.
