I bought the first four of these to use in a small group setting, ages 4-10. The animation is outstanding. There are 4 lessons that can be printed off from the DVD but only 2 of these are actually integrated into the story line of the DVD. I am not sure why the other 2 bible stories are there, when there is no DVD to go along with them! I also had to do a lot of intro work, so the children could understand the context of the story. I had to introduce new vocabulary: refugees, zealots, rebels, Roman Empire and character introductions. There are a lot of extras on the website that are useful! The lessons give crafts and games but no meat as far as comprehension questions or Bible memorization. The lessons are very values based (loving others, helping others, not giving up etc...) Hope this review helps!

In the bustling marketplace of Alexandria we meet Samuel and Macky. Soon they encounter two young refugee girls who have stowed away aboard a ship from Galilee and are being pursued by Roman soldiers. Macky and his family risk their safety and defy the Romans by taking the sisters into their home. Samuel tells the story of Daniel in the Lions’ Den to encourage the family not to be afraid - and Macky learns that violence is not the answer.
When the girls are captured, Macky reminds everyone how Jesus demonstrated his power with a Miraculous Catch of Fish before calling his followers to leave everything and follow him. This motivates Samuel to help Macky spring a daring raid on the prison to free the girls.
