The book has some good points, esp about wrong approaches with guilt. It could have been written better in terms of language and tone. But I have to agree with the author that guilt is bad and is a problem because guilt does not lead to repentance, conviction does. There is a difference between guilt (worldly sorrow) and conviction (godly sorrow): "For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death." 1 Cor 7:9-10

Guilt is not just a bad problem?!?! The author of this is insane! This book is not worth a single star rating at all. This phrase, freedom from guilt, implies that sin is acceptable. Basically, it states that God is a liar in sending Jesus to take our place in what we rightfully deserve. Guilt is like the warning lights on your dashboard in the car. 'Check engine, low oil, low gas' are all warning signs that something potentially harmful will take place if care is not taken to remedy the warning. Guilt is a warning that signals a change must be made in your life, some sin (doing what God doesn't outline; not doing what God outlines) that has been committed. Guilt leads to repentance. To say guilt is a bad problem and it hinders your relationship to God is plainly WRONG! Please, please DO NOT be misled by the title and content. This should not be on the market; spare the truth.
