My Paper Heart CD

Francesca Battistelli is no stranger to the stage. Having been raised by parents immersed in the arts and Broadway, she developed a love of music, theatre, and performance at a young age. But instead of using these talents for applause and accolades, Francesca prefers to point people much beyond herself - towards hope. Her soulful piano-pop sound resembles a blend of her music interests- jazz, rock, gospel and R&B woven beautifully together with themes of trust and risk taking.

Francesca Battistelli, the newest addition to the Fervent Record's diverse roster of music artists, hits it big with her debut "My Paper Heart". "My Paper Heart" shows the felling and emotions she has, (which I don't find in most artists). The Album Opener "Free To Be Me," is an upbeat "God loves you they way you are" song. "I'm Letting Go" is a song about giving up your entire life to God, and letting Him take control. "Unpredictable" was a song that caught my attention it's upbeat felling that makes you want to stand up, and dance. "Unpredictable" is a true anthem about God as stated in the chorus: When I know that I know / What You have down the road / When I’m sure that / I’ve figured You out / You help me see that I’m small / That I can’t know it all / ‘Cause You’re so unpredictable Then "Forever Love" was a song that had a chorus that repeated to much and sounded like some of the other songs. All in all "Forever Love" was a good song but could have been tweaked a little. "My Paper Heart" is a good album fused with the powerful voice of Franceca Battistelli and organic, piano-fused pop sound. Most of the songs will leave a lasting impression on the listener but then there are those mediocre songs that are a good listen but won't care about hearing them again. Hopfully Francesca will have a more diverse sound on her next effort.

i havent even purchased this album yet but from the single "free to be me" and the clippetts, im gonna go head and give this album a 5!!! her voice is so beautiful (it reminds me of Nikki Leonti)

I love the richness of her voice. I especially like the last song Time in Between. It had some pretty powerful lyrics.

This was an excellent CD, and I loved it! I think Francesca Battistelli really wants to glorify God through her music, and I think that's just great. Her vocals are good, but what matters most is the message in her music.

Love the CD! My girls (6 and 8) enjoyed listening to them and they know the words by heart! She's an awesome artist. I love all the songs on the CD, but if I were to select one of my favorite, it would be "Behind the Scenes", describe the person that I am. Love It!!!
