This book certainly puts our "problems" into perspective. Reading how the early Christians put their faith to the ultimate test is inspiring to say the least. The only problem I have is that it's really tough to read in the "old english", or whatever style of writing it is. It is most certainly not in "today's language".
I have only read a little bit of the book, but it is very good. It is in an old English righting style that as you read you get used to. I personally find the many stories beautiful to know how other believers finished the race so strong, and not by there personal strength, but by God's.
A great book to see what it truly means to be a martyr. Are you a true follower of Jesus? What would you do if your family was in front of you and someone said reject Christ or see them slowly be put to death? If you were tould reject Jesus or take a bullet in the head? See what it was like to be a follower and doer of the word.
