Fast Food Nation
February 28, 2011
I enjoyed Eric Schlosser's book called Fast Food Nation, it touches base on the realities of fast food. I
liked that he wrote not only about how unhealthy this food is for us. But he also wrote about the people
who work in these fast food places. What I found interesting to read about was the history, behind the
beginnings of these fast food restruants. With the world changing to a faster pace everyday, these restruants give convienance, taste, and affordability to a busy family. I found the book very informative in many areas of the process from the farm to the product served to you just the way you like it. He really touched base on the dark side of fast food. How the animals are given chemicals, to the low pay to fast food workers. I was shocked to find out that the fast food industry is profiting off feeding us unhealthy food. Will this change the way I eat ? Most definitely after looking up some of the nutrition values for food from certain restruants, I saw for myself that it is full of fat, sodium, and calories. Will it change how everyone eats ? I doubt it, although I think that Eric Schlossar has that idea. Overall I found the book informative, and well put together. Touching base on several areas of fast food was a good choice.
